The Asia-Pacific Economic Association is organizing its tenth annual conference, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on July 11-12, 2014. Economists are invited to submit papers for presentation consideration. Theoretical and empirical papers in all economic fields, whether or not directly related to the Asia-Pacific economies, are most welcome. Some sessions for graduate students in doctoral programs are planned.

The deadline for submitting a paper (or an extended abstract with at least 300 words) is January 31, 2014. Please send your submission by e-mail to <[email protected]>. Please include in your submission the following information of you and all other co-authors (if any): name, e-mail address, affiliation, academic rank (or graduate student), and mailing address. Please note that submission of more than one paper is highly discouraged, unless different papers will be presented by different co-authors.

Organizing a Session

Economists are also welcome to organize sessions in the conference. Each session will last for approximately 2 hours, consisting of four papers (three or five papers are possible), to be presented by different authors, one chair (not necessarily the session organizer but preferably not one of the presenters or discussants), and the corresponding discussants. Please submit by February 15, 2014 a proposal for one or two sessions to <[email protected]>. The proposal should provide an explanation of the theme and all papers to be presented, including the e-mail and mailing addresses, affiliations, academic ranks, and phone and fax numbers of the organizer, session chair, presenters, and discussants.

Submissions to Global Journal of Economics and China Economic Policy Review

Papers presented in the conference are invited to be submitted to two new journals for publication consideration: Global Journal of Economics (GJE) and China Economic Policy Review (CEPR). Please visit the publisher’s websites for more information about the journals:
